The primary responsibility of the EHS Compliance Manager is to manage the organization's environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental standards and regulations. Develop processes to identify and assess risks associated with hazardous materials, waste disposal, and industrial processes, mitigate impacts to the community, and ensure regulatory compliance. Key Areas of Responsibility 

·        Safety - Duties include: Emergency Response; Spill Response; Fire / Incident Command Team Organization; MSDS System Development; Personal Safety Program Development including training, auditing and associated reporting and record keeping.

·        Regulatory/Compliance - This position is responsible for overall regulatory compliance. The main pillars of the program include: personal safety program management, water & wastewater pretreatment, hazardous waste management, emissions tracking and reporting, and interfacing with regulatory agencies such as Mass DEP, US EPA, OSHA, Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS), MWRA, and local & municipal authorities.

·        Training - Develops training and education protocols to promote awareness of environmental policies, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards

·        Project Management –Support safety and regulatory focused projects. 

Qualifications:


·       Four-year college degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field

·       Five to Seven years of experience in similar industry

·       Must be able to obtain job-related certifications as required, such as (Qualified Individual (QI), RCRA, HAZWPR, etc.)

·       Excellent spoken, written and presentation skills

·       Day to day work is in a manufacturing environment.

·       Tasks may at times be performed with exposure to all weather conditions.

·       Require the usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and may take place in confined spaces.

·       Duties involve frequent walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying objects up to 65lbs.

·       Must be able to frequently climb ladders to access mission critical operating equipment and obtain product samples. Some towers are over 100 feet tall.

·       Must be able to work in confined spaces.

·       Must be able to clearly view and inspect mixers/pumps located 12-14 ft below an elevated tank platform.
