Biophysics - 2019 Summer Internship

Summer Internship Overview:

  • Begin in June and last approximately 10 weeks, depending on semester/trimester timing
  • Interns will work on a specific project(s) throughout the summer
  • Interns will give a 20-min presentation in mid-August
  • HR will coordinate bi-weekly brown bag lunch events with speakers from different teams/areas
  • HR will hold an interview, resume, and phone screen training
  • We will host several social activities


Biophysics Intern

This is an excellent opportunity for a college undergraduate with interest in biochemical assay for measurement of ternary complex formation to screen conditions favorable for complexation that provides an experimental road map for crystallization efforts. Fluorescence-based assays, differential scanning fluorimetry, and isothermal titration calorimetry will be the primary techniques utilized to measure complex formation. The intern will work closely with an experienced scientist on all aspects of assay technology and data evaluation.



  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Physics, Biophysics or related field
  • Basic understanding of biochemical assays for small molecule-binding
  • Experience with Fluorescence, ITC or DSF instruments and /or other analytical techniques is desirable
