Post Doctoral Psychology Fellow

 Clarity Child Guidance Center is seeking one qualified applicant for a one-year Post Doctoral Fellowship which will begin in or around July 2023. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in psychological testing and experience providing services to children and adolescents with complex trauma. Candidates with interest or experience in applying psychodynamic conceptualization and family systems theory to their clinical work are encouraged to apply. In line with Clarity's mission, we are seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow who desires to serve an underserved child and adolescent population in their future career. Selected candidates will obtain supervision, training, and experience providing psychological consultation, psychological testing, and psychotherapy (individual, family, and group) across levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization, (day treatment), and outpatient. Post doctoral fellows 'home base' will be within the outpatient building and will have their own furnished individual offices. In addition to these clinical experiences, Post-Doctoral Fellows will have the opportunity to make a public presentation on behalf of Clarity. Potential supervision of group run by pre-doctoral interns may also be available. A minimum of two hours of individual clinical supervision will be provided by a licensed psychologist per week in addition to weekly case conferences and a didactic seminar. 

Clarity Child Guidance Center is a private, not-for-profit children's psychiatric hospital that serves as the training affiliate providing the sole major rotation for the Child, Adolescent, and Family Track of the APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship through The University of Texas Health at San Antonio (our local medical school). 

Prerequisites: 

  1. PhD or PsyD in Psychology granted by an APA-accredited program.
  2. Completion of an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship.
  3. Eligible for a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) status as defined by the Texas Board of Examiners of Psychologists. 
  4. Ability to work collaboratively on our clinical team and manage complex clinical scenarios while demonstrating care, respect, and clinical insight.  Proficient in word processing, excel, power-point, web-based applications and psychological testing software.
