We are currently looking to hire the following position in our Forma Steel facility.
Role: Trim Shop Machine Operator
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: Day Shift
Your role as a Machine Operator in the Trim shop includes the fabrication of various steel trims using machines such as the Folder, Shear, and Slitter.

- Perform start up, cleaning, and shut down procedures on production equipment.
- Safely operate various steel manufacturing equipment such as folder, shear, slitter.
- Safely Lift and move steel products throughout the assembly and production process.
- Ensure timeliness and consistency, meeting quality and production standards.
- Always acts with the safety of themselves and others as a top priority.

- Identify and report equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Lead Hand.
- Perform regular quality checks on work, materials, and equipment conditions.
- Approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset.
- Stay proactive and resourceful to ensure the job is completed efficiently.

- Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and hazards.
- Will always properly use all the required PPE (hi-vis vest, safety glasses, earplugs, CSA-approved work boots, etc.).
- Take ownership of your work, ensuring precision and durability in every component built.
- Follow and adhere to the machine’s operation training and procedures.
Key Requirements
- Previous steel manufacturing experience considered a strong asset.
- Stand, walk, bend and stretch for 8-10-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment.
- Lift, push, and pull 50-75 lbs repeatedly.
- Able to wear all required PPE (Steel toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, hi-vis vest, etc.).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Use hands for grasping, handling, and precision work.
- Stay alert and focused while operating machinery.
- Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
