Job Description

The Alberta New Home Warranty Program Group of Companies (ANHWP Group), is Alberta’s most experienced and most trusted new home warranty provider and educator for homebuilders. As Alberta’s leader in new home warranty products and services for 50 years, we continue to raise the bar to meet the needs of homeowners and our Builder Members.

 

This position resides with The Alberta New Home Warranty Program (ANHWP) and works alongside The New Home Warranty Insurance (Canada) Corporation (NHWICC) and the Professional Home Builders Institute of Alberta (PHBI) and Dweller Home Services.

 

Accountable for:

The Finance Clerk will be responsible for providing support to the Finance department.   You will assist with many aspects of our operation in collaboration with our experienced team to support financial routines and processes, as well as reconciliations, financial statements, accounts payables, invoicing and others.

 

Work location: Calgary, Alberta

Term: May 20, 2025 to August 22, 2025

Working hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm (35 hours/week)

Wage: $18/hour

 

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Finance Clerk are:

  • Assist with standard accounts payables  
  • Assist with accounts receivable collections and reconciliations
  • Conduct manual invoicing on behalf of the company for home inspection services
  • Complete month end reconciliations for financial statement data entry
  • Assist with other ad-hoc administrative duties as required

 

 

Skills and Experience:

·     Must be between 16-30 years old as this position is partially funded by the Canada Summer Student grant program
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education, in Accounting or Business Administration, or related area and returning to a post-secondary institution following your work term. Candidates must be at least in the 2nd year of their Program.  
  • Available and legally authorized to work in Canada for at least 14 week full time work-term 
  • Previous work experience in an administrative capacity, office setting and/or finance would be considered an asset 
  • You have the ability to manage confidential information, are discrete and ethical 
  • You are a critical thinker, solutions orientated and have a high attention to detail 

 

 

Knowledge:

  • A background in Finance
