Position Summary
The Interior Installation Technician I, is an entry-level role responsible for learning and supporting the installation of VIP aircraft interior components. Working under close supervision, this position assists in installing cabinetry, monuments, sidewalls, and other interior components required to complete high-end luxury aircraft. This role provides hands-on experience in aircraft completions while developing the technical skills required to perform work in accordance with company procedures and aviation regulatory standards.
Essential Job Functions
· Learn how to properly install fabricated aircraft interiors.
· Within 90 days you must be able to interpret material specs and engineering drawings to ensure installed interiors meet the design spec, quality standards and customer expectations.
· Learn to request material needs timely to ensure a continuous workflow.
· Within 90 days you must be able to adhere to all regulatory documentation regarding proper sign off, component installation, etc. as well as be able to ensure paperwork is complied with and completed timely in accordance with the Comlux RSQM and other quality standards.
· Follow all department safety guidelines and ensure proper usage of tools and equipment.
· Basic knowledge of company installation procedures, process specs, IOPs, etc.
· Other duties as assigned but not covered herein.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Technical or trade school training preferred
· Minimum 1 year of aircraft interior installation experience, preferably in a corporate aviation or aircraft completions environment
· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
Required Skills and Abilities
· Basic understanding of aircraft interior installation processes
· Willingness to learn aviation regulatory requirements including FAA documentation and compliance procedures
· Familiarity with computers and software used for production documentation
· Interest in learning Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors
Work Environment
· This position is based in an aircraft hangar environment and may involve:
· Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
· Loud noise levels
· Use of heavy machinery and specialized tools
· Potential contact with chemicals or hazardous materials
· Working in confined aircraft interior spaces
