Position Summary

The Community Relations Director is responsible for driving census growth through proactive outreach, relationship building, and lead conversion. This role focuses on developing and maintaining strong referral partnerships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physicians, home health agencies, and senior service organizations while also guiding prospective residents and families through the decision-making and move-in process.

The Community Relations Director plays a critical role in maintaining stable occupancy by generating qualified leads, coordinating tours, and ensuring prospective residents are financially and clinically appropriate for the community.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Outreach

  • Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physicians, discharge planners, home health agencies, hospice providers, and senior placement professionals.

  • Conduct regular in-person outreach visits to referral partners to promote the community and increase lead generation.

  • Attend networking events, community meetings, and professional gatherings to expand referral networks.

  • Maintain consistent weekly outreach activity and track all referral contacts.

Sales & Conversion

  • Respond promptly to all inquiries from prospective residents and families.

  • Schedule and conduct community tours and follow-up communication.

  • Guide prospective residents and families through the decision-making process from inquiry to move-in.

  • Coordinate with clinical leadership to complete resident assessments as needed.

  • Ensure prospective residents are financially qualified and appropriate for the services offered by the community.

Pipeline Management

  • Maintain accurate records of leads, tours, deposits, and move-ins.

  • Track and report weekly sales activity including outreach visits, inquiries, tours, and move-ins.

  • Follow up consistently with prospects and referral partners to maintain engagement.

  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director to develop strategies for improving census and market visibility.

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Assist with planning and hosting community events, open houses, and educational programs.

  • Support development and implementation of marketing initiatives and move-in promotions.

  • Represent the community in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Qualifications
  • Experience in senior living sales, healthcare marketing, or related field preferred.

  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain consistent outreach activity.

  • Knowledge of assisted living services, resident care needs, and financial qualification processes preferred.

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Lead generation and outreach activity

  • Number of tours conducted

  • Move-ins and census growth

  • Development and maintenance of referral partnerships

  • Accurate tracking and reporting of sales pipeline activity

Work Environment

This role requires a combination of in-office work, community outreach, and travel within the local market to build referral relationships.

Compensation

Compensation may include a base salary with potential incentives tied to census growth and move-ins.
