General Purpose: Plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages CCA students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Main Job Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

·        plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences with Core Knowledge and Core Virtues Curriculum

·        establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities

·        maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning

·        administer school-wide assessments and use data to inform instruction

·        identify and select instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs

·        use relevant educational and/or assistive technology to support instruction

·        observe and evaluate student's performance and development

·        grade classwork, tests, and assignments and provide appropriate feedback

·        encourage and monitor the progress of individual students

·        maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development

·        update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies, and school regulations

·        prepare required reports as requested by the school administration

·        manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures

·        maintain discipline following the directions and disciplinary systems of the school

·        participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings, and professional development

·        communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs

·        keep updated with developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities

·        adhere to CCA school policies and procedures

Job Skills & Requirements:

·        Bachelor's degree in English or related field                                                          

·        South Carolina State Certification

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in secondary education or related field; Experience with Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA)
