Strong City Baltimore is a 50-year-old grassroots nonprofit that builds and strengthens neighborhoods and people. Seeking a self-starter, independent, detail-oriented and community-focused individual to serve as Development Associate (DA) for Strong City Baltimore initiatives. The Development Associate will seek out grant prospects, set up meetings with funders as needed, craft grant submissions and narratives, create grant budgets, submit grants by the assigned deadline and manage the reporting process.
Responsibilities include creating comprehensive fundraising plans with Initiative Leads and their Strong City Portfolio Manager and will conduct fundraising prospecting and connect with funders to enhance initiative ability to apply for and receive funds. The DA will write between 30-40 grants per year to raise approximately $500,000 of funding revenue. The DA will assist with between 5-7 individual donor appeals per year, expanding individual giving to Initiatives through the integration of the WeDidIt platform, social media, and other marketing strategies. The DA will collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Initiative Leads to implement an individual donor cultivation strategy for assigned Initiatives, including providing donor cultivation support, creating reports and analyzing donor profiles.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or AA degree with at least three years of fundraising experience
- Experience with fundraising strategy, grant writing, and CRMs
- Well organized with superb communication skills in person, over the phone, and in writing
- Ability to synthesize information in a cohesive, compelling, and comprehensive manner
- Ability to work with individuals to collect information and manage projects
- Ability to manage competing deadlines
