Salary: $54,600 to $61,880 Annual Salary
Reporting to: Jason Andrew, General Manger of Lil'wat Construction
Summary of Duties:
The Pemberton Transfer Station Manager works closely with the GM/Mines Manager, managing the delivery of a broad range of services from transfer station operations, to subcontractors, and maintaining a clean yard.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
• Provides leadership to the development and operating affairs of Pemberton Transfer Station
• Manages the operations of the Pemberton Transfer Station site.
• Ensures all contracts are compliant with local and federal laws, building codes and regional district by-laws and Lil’wat Business Group and Lil’wat Nation policies.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies such as SLRD and GFL, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development
• Generate employment and contracting opportunities
• Designs formal business relationships (i.e., letters of intent, operating agreements, contracts, MOU)
• Completes weekly and monthly reporting for the CEO and Business Group Board of Directors
• Developments, monitors and implements: budgets, work plans, safety response plans, and scheduling
• Manages staff through effective recruitment, selection, performance management and disciplinary action.
• Prioritizes management of Health and Safety, ensuring compliance with Laws and Regulations, striving to improve departmental performance
• Assists in the development of policies and programs (e.g. financial, human resource, and health and safety)
• Perform other related duties as requested
Experience and Attributes:
• 5 Plus years of related equipment and truck loading and offloading an asset, experience, including two (2) to three (3) years of management / supervisory experience and Yard management.
Physically fit, with the ability to lift, pull or carry up to 50lbs.
• First Aid Level 1 preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours weekends and holidays as needed.
Ability to travel as required for the position for certificates.
• Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Highly professional in interaction with all clients and Members
• Class 5 Driver’s License
• Clear drivers abstract is required
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• WHIMIS certificate an asset
