· Position: Universal Worker - Activities
· Shift Premiums: $5.00/hour for afternoon, midnight, Saturday, and Sunday shifts

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and team-oriented Universal Worker to join our Activities Department. In this role, you will assist in meeting the social, emotional, and recreational needs of our residents through the planning and delivery of engaging and inclusive activity programs. You’ll work closely with other staff to foster a sense of community, promote dignity and independence, and support residents’ overall well-being. Key Responsibilities:
· Support the mission of Grand Traverse Pavilions by providing a continuum of health care and residential services.
· Embrace and support the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) philosophy, striving for continuous improvement in tasks and systems.
· Comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations as outlined in the organization’s Code of Conduct.
· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding records and constituent information.
· Promote environmental safety by complying with the organization’s Safety Policies and Procedures.
· Work cooperatively with team members in the Activities Department to meet departmental goals and objectives.
· Assist in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activity programs to meet residents' needs.
· Help execute the daily and monthly activity calendar with a variety of engaging activities.
· Support residents’ spiritual, emotional, recreational, and social needs through personalized programming.
· Encourage participation in activities while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being.
· Assist recreational therapists with individual or group therapy sessions as needed.
· Utilize the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to residents.
· Foster a sense of community within the facility through group interactions and engagement.
· Lead and participate in individual and group activities to ensure a positive experience for all residents.
· Utilize various therapeutic models (e.g., music, art, pet therapy) to enhance residents' well-being.
· Assist with decorating the facility for special events, creating a festive atmosphere.
· Maintain accurate records of activities and resident attendance.
· Ensure activity areas are cleaned and organized after each session.
· Provide support and comfort to residents and families when needed.
· Perform other tasks as assigned by the Activities Supervisor or leadership team.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
· Ability to interact cooperatively with residents, families, and staff.
· Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, sit, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds.
· Flexibility to work effectively in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions.
· Ability to engage with individuals with disabilities and/or dementia.
· Ability to work weekends and holidays as required.
Working Conditions:
· Position requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
· Exposure to noise, occasional unpleasant odors, and cleaning products.
· Prescribed dress code in accordance with the organization’s guidelines.
· Potentially dangerous equipment used/maintained.
· May require working weekends and/or holidays based on staffing needs.
