Position Summary:
 The Production Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for organizing a team of production accounting techs and for reviewing all production analyses, production data for state & federal agencies, oil and gas accrual volumes and midstream accounting data.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, develop and support production accounting personnel
  • Act as main point of contact between revenue, marketing, and production engineering
  • Design daily and monthly reconciliations of production volumes, making sure volumes tie to 3rd party statements and all volume anomalies are researched, corrected or explained
  • Develop a thorough monthly work flow calendar in tandem with the rest of the accounting department, prioritizing reporting deadlines
  • Review all daily production corrections completed by the production accounting techs
  • Work closely with the ONRR and State of Wyoming to ensure all volume reports are correctly filed, prioritizing any preliminary determinations from the ONRR
  • Interpret field flows and changes to field flows, recording any changes in P2Merrick
  • Manage any compliance issues associated with production audits and third party audits
  • Review all state and Federal production reports
  • Review all oil and gas allocations, including new wells set-ups
  • Assist production technicians in researching issues in the production accounting system 
  • Reviews all data associated with oil and gas volumes, end of the month volumes and crude oil run tickets
  • Ensures that all daily and monthly allocations are accurate down to the well level
  • Provide any production information or analysis of data as requested
  • Prepare monthly gas balancing statements for 3rd parties
  • Reconcile gas balances between plants based on various gathering contracts
  • Provide monthly meter split updates to 3rd party gatherers, taking any gas balancing changes into consideration
  • Create monthly pool allocation, reconciling total gas sales, any applicable pipeline imbalances and residue gas volumes back to the volume that left the lease

 

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in oil and gas production and/or production accounting/reporting
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and databases
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and self-motivated
  • Advanced knowledge of oil & gas industry operations and terminology
  • Advanced technical skill using, maintaining and enhancing the accounting system and other integrated systems
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to download information into or from the company accounting systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills, desire to make positive changes and process improvements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Works well with field personnel
  • P2 Merrick and Excalibur software experience strongly preferred
  • Prior leadership experience, preferably in production reporting
