Pharmacy Technician (PRN)

SUMMARY: Responsibilities include day-to-day operations and assisting the Pharmacist according to Alabama Regional Medical Services policy and Alabama State laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the licensed Pharmacist to provide medication to patients
  • Assist in the counting of tablets or labeling bottles
  • Organize inventory and alert Pharmacist of any shortages
  • Maintain proper storage and security of drugs
  • Accept payments for prescriptions and process insurance
  • Enter customer or patient information into computer system and maintain patient profiles
  • Refer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to Pharmacist
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating cash register
  • Assist with medical interpretation and/or translation if permitted by supervising Pharmacist or COO
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

1 to 3 years of experience working in a Pharmacy.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Registered with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing

Maintain (3) continuing education credits per year with (1) credit requiring being in attendance to obtain the credit

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Should have knowledge of pharmaceutical and pharmacy operations. Standard computer and software skills are necessary. Must be able to respond to patient needs in a professional and sensitive manner. Should work well with others and be self-motivated.

Job Types: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
