Hydraulic Technician    BMS Longwall Solutions

The Hydraulic Technician diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds hydraulic systems used in underground mining roof support and longwall equipment. This role ensures hydraulic components operate reliably under high-pressure and extreme operating conditions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and assemble hydraulic components
• Diagnose pressure, flow, leakage, and performance issues
• Replace seals, hoses, valves, fittings, and related components
• Test hydraulic systems and components
• Maintain contamination control and cleanliness standards
• Document repairs and inspection findings

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience with industrial or mobile hydraulic systems
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Commitment to safety and cleanliness

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• industrial hydraulic environment within a heavy manufacturing and mining equipment repair facility, involving high-pressure hydraulic systems, hydraulic oils, hoses, valves, cylinders, and heavy mechanical components. Work is performed around pressurized systems, powered equipment, and lifting devices, with exposure to hydraulic fluids, noise, and other typical industrial conditions.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, reach, and work in various physical positions while disassembling, repairing, and assembling hydraulic components. Must be capable of handling heavy parts using approved lifting devices and strictly following hydraulic safety procedures, pressure control practices, and required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
