Advertising Sales Account Executive

MILO Detroit, MI

Detroit Publisher is looking for an experienced and results-driven salesperson to join our team.  This individual would manage a portfolio of accounts and seek out and build relationships with potential advertisers and marketers. Candidates for this position should prioritize customer service, acquisition, and company profitability.

The position is required to work with other departments including editorial, accounting and production. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the city and its people and is happy in a fast-paced growing environment. Some evenings and weekends are required. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate and qualify leads via phone, email and in-person

  • Schedule sales appointments and activities

  • Promote the publications to new and existing partners

  • Develop strategies for more effective sales closing

  • Maintain positive business and customer relationships to prolong customer lifetime value

  • Prioritize and/or escalate client questions and concerns to increase client satisfaction

  • Source and develop client referrals

  • Track personal appointments, status reports, and sales

  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals

  • Continuously improve through feedback

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Aptitude for negotiation and persuasion

  • Highly motivated, determined, and target driven

  • Works well independently and within a team

  • Strategic thinker who produces results

  • Proven track record in the sales environment

  • Ability to meet and exceed monthly sales quota

  • Ability to create and deliver client presentations

  • Expert in time management and personal organization

  • Represent the company professionally and passionately in the community

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but may accept relevant experience
