ROAR is Tofino's favorite live fire restaurant and bar that makes every meal feel as relaxing and fun as a roaring beach fire. Right now, we are turning up the heat on our hunt for a Breakfast Cook!

Located in the swanky Hotel Zed, ROAR is the first restaurant by Accent Inns Inc! We're a family-owned, BC-based hospitality company that LEADS WITH LOVE and our number one metric as a company is the happiness of our staff, who we call our Fam-Jam cause we are like family.

What You'll Do

As a Breakfast Cook you'll be responsible for smooth execution, organization, and cooking of all breakfast and lunch menu items. The Breakfast Cook plays a key role in leading and maintaining an organized service kitchen, key aspects of the role include:

• Ensuring the line is set up for service, leading the cooking and plating, utilizing the 2^nd Breakfast Cook for plating when necessary
• Lead your shift with a positive, hands-on, high-energy outlook – leading by example
• Live by and promote company values, leading with love
• Maintain effective communication within the team, department and with the hotel
• Train and coach new and existing employees
• Ensuring that all cooks are adhering to brand recipes, flavor profiles and the plating syllabus
• Assist kitchen Leadership team in maintaining and improving Labour and Food Costs – communicating product and supply shortages
• Review prep lists and delegate as necessary to ensure full menu is maintained
• Supervise standards of cleanliness, timing, organization, production, food quality, and consistency through ensuring completion of operational checklists
• Monitors and leads by example in kitchen cleanliness
• Ensure all products are prepared, held, and served at correct temperatures and correct visual appearance
• Accurately complete all orders with uncompromising quality and consistency, including ensuring allergies and other modifications are handled correctly

Job Requirements

• Experience with cooking eggs/breakfast dishes + pastry/baking experience
• FoodSafe certified
• Culinary experience in a full-service restaurant is an asset 
• Live fire knowledge an asset
• Must be innovative, detail oriented and quality driven
• Strong business sense, sharp awareness of cost controls
• Must be responsible, able to take initiative, maintain supervision in a fast-paced high-energy environment
• Creative, energetic, with good interpersonal and communication skills
