Third Cook - Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport

The Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport is currently accepting applications for a full-time Third Cook. The role of the Third Cook is the application of skills in various areas of line preparation (scratch cooking, finishing, plating and garnishing), maintaining an updated mis-en-place list, prioritization of duties, the maintenance of quality standards, ensuring cleanliness of kitchen and pastry.

  • Assist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and or buffet menus according to resort recipes and standards
  • Daily checks of all mis-en-place to ensure freshness & quality standards
  • Able take responsibility and run an entry level station in the restaurant to standard and with confidence
  • Ensure consistency and quality of work and food products
  • Able to follow proper food safety guidelines (ie label, date, initial, proper food rotation, recognizing spoiled food)
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Maintain communicate with sous chefs re: mise-en-place ordering requirements
  • Maintain communication of prep lists and mise-en-place as a pass off to others
  • Proper receiving and rotation of all food ingredients and making sure standards are met
  • Communicating proper cleaning duties are done on a daily and weekly rotation
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards 
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Minimum of 1 year of previous restaurant experience
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Valid BC Food Safe Certificate
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to constantly stand and walk throughout shift
  • Able to frequently lift and carry up to 30 lbs 
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction
