An ideal candidate for the Commissary Food Production Assistant position should have a passion for food, willingness to learn, attention to detail, cleanliness, and inventiveness. The following is a plus

  • 2 years experience in professional kitchen or equivalent culinary coursework or certificate preferred (We also welcome individuals that are currently enrolled in culinary school)


The Commissary Food Production Assistant must

  • Maintain strict inventory control
  • Assist in produce, meat, and dry good inventory, ordering, and receiving 
  • Maintain proper food rotation and spoilage prevention.
  • Be diligent around food handling, food labeling and storage.
  • Plan and execute the days goals with another member of the production team
  • Strong attention to detail and high level or organization
  • Assist in all aspects of menu production for Ceremony Cafes. 
  • Demonstrate can do attitude and positive outlook. 
  • Take full responsibility for professionally cleaning and closing kitchen
  • Self-motivated and able to stay on task independently
  • Ability to “think on the fly†and restructure tasks as needed
  • Process a sense of urgency and work with purpose. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize food prep
  • Follow recipes and convert recipes for larger or smaller portions
  • Follow written, verbal, or diagramed instructions thoroughly
  • Maintain clean and organized kitchen at all times
  • Adhere to Health Department guidelines.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand for duration of shift.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
