About the Role

 

The Room Attendant & Server Lead is a dual-role position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and presentation of guest accommodations and common areas, while also leading front-of-house dining operations. This role delivers exceptional guest service, oversees FOH staff, and supports high standards of hospitality at the Nootka Sound and Newton Cove Resorts.

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead and supervise the FOH department including training, onboarding/offboarding, scheduling, coaching, and performance monitoring.

·        Enforce company policies, health and safety standards, and support Joint Health & Safety Committee initiatives.

·        Clean and maintain guest rooms, washrooms, laundry rooms, common areas, and lounges to resort standards.

·        Respond to guest requests, restock amenities, and report maintenance issues promptly.

·        Serve meals, describe dishes confidently, accommodate dietary needs, and sell menu items.

·        Set, reset, and maintain dining areas; restock service stations and polish glassware/cutlery.

·        Prepare beverages, cocktails, and monitor wine/coffee/water service.

·        Communicate guest numbers, timing, and dietary needs with the Resort Chef and Resort Manager.

·        Welcome guests, assist with luggage, and support seamless arrivals and departures.

·        Audit maintenance needs, purchase supplies, resolve guest complaints, and oversee seasonal opening/closing procedures. 

 

Qualifications

 

Required

 

·        Legally entitled to work in Canada

·        High school diploma or equivalent

·        Serving It Right certification

·        Previous experience in Serving and/or Housekeeping

·        Wine service experience and knowledge

·        WHMIS certification

 

Preferred

 

·        OFA1 (Occupational First Aid Level 1)

·        Previous serving and housekeeping experience in a resort, fine dining, or hospitality setting.

·        Strong communication, time-management, and interpersonal skills

·        Ability to work quickly, independently, and safely

·        Attention to cleanliness
