The Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist plays an essential role in delivering various human resource functions through continuous improvement and implementing best practices in a fast-paced environment. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for supporting and owning HR initiatives aligned with E1’s strategic and tactical priorities, primarily supporting in areas such as recruitment, new employee orientation, and onboarding, benefits and pension administration, fostering a positive employee experience and resolving concerns, policy development, as well as other various programs related to the E1 Employee Experience framework (compensation, benefits, career and development, lifestyle and wellbeing, and purpose).
Responsibilities:
· Own the training and development process, including identifying, coordinating, and tracking employee training and evaluations related to safety compliance, technical training, and professional development.
· Support managers in performance management processes, including employee evaluations, goal setting, and feedback.
· Guide employees and managers on policies, procedures, and workplace guidelines.
· Assist with administering leaves of absence and return to work programs.
· Assist with compensation planning and ensure that payroll processes are accurate and timely.
· Aid in the development and maintenance of HR policies and practices.
· Assist with required activities related to programs and initiatives under the E1 employee experience framework, such as career management and total rewards statements.
· Participate in recruitment activities by preparing documents such as internal and external job postings and sharing them across various channels, writing job descriptions, screening resumes, and interviewing to shortlist qualified candidates.
· Support employee onboarding by ensuring hiring documents are completed correctly, assist with planning and preparing orientation sessions, support the planning and coordination of initial on-the-job training, and act as the first point of contact for general queries from new employees.
· Work with the HR team to plan and execute employee engagement activities.
· Act as an E1’s company culture ambassador by modeling exceptional internal customer service.

What Will Help You Succeed?
· Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Labor Relations or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
· A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) is preferred.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams (advanced knowledge of Excel would be especially helpful in this role)
· Ability to work competently within an HRIS
· Full-cycle recruitment experience, including but not limited to drafting job postings, reviewing resumes, documenting criteria, creating interview questions and shortlists, and developing job descriptions
· Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, diplomacy, and discretion
· Superior communication skills (i.e., written, verbal, listening for understanding, etc.)
· Knowledge of employment law and legislation
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
What to expect in your first several weeks on the job:
In the first week, expect to:
- Meet the HR Director and the rest of the HR team.
- Meet with leaders and employees across the organization to learn more about our work.
- Familiarize yourself with EfficiencyOne’s culture, HR practices, and procedures.
- Get comfortable with your surroundings.
In the first month, expect to:
- Deepen your organizational awareness and better understand our short- and longer-term HR goals.
- Review our HR team plan for 2025 and understand how your role will contribute to our organizational objectives.
- Develop a high-level plan for the first 90 days in your role.
- Draft your individual goals and objectives and further discuss performance expectations.
In the first three months, expect to:
- Continue establishing relationships with leaders and employees and respond to questions regarding HR programs.
- Start diving into initiatives such as career development, compensation planning, employee development, and policy maintenance.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Specialist to optimize the overall candidate experience.
- Please familiarize yourself with our training and development database to identify opportunities to improve and simplify the process.
