ELM Utility Services, with over 1300 employees nationwide, has an outstanding opportunity as a Standby Monitor Technician, working in Bryan or College Station, Texas area. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor excavation activities near high-profile gas facilities and ensure that safe and approved practices are utilized. Starting wages for this position will be $24.00-$30.00 depending on experience. You will also be responsible for verifying previous locate marks made by other ELM Locate Technicians, as well as damage prevention through education and preventative patrolling.

Your specific duties in this role will include, but not limited to:
- Verifying previous marking for high-profile underground gas utilities
- Completing all necessary paperwork
- Maintaining daily contact with utility managers, crews, homeowners and contractors, discussing locate issues
- Receiving daily jobs via computer/device
- Prioritizing your daily work by going through all locate requests to determine routing
- Reading and understanding utility-provided maps to assist in identification of underground utilities
- Ensuring that clients and contractors suffer no damages or injuries due to mis-located utilities
- Monitoring active excavations near high-profile gas facilities and ensuring safe practices are used
- Inspecting exposed gas facilities for damage
Specific qualifications for the position include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 90 days of proven, gas locating experience is required.
- Valid driver’s license with a good motor vehicle record
