Tomball Retirement Center is seeking an experienced, extremely creative, resourceful, and hands-on Activities Director to lead life enrichment programming for our Assisted Living and Independent Living residents.
We are looking for someone who thrives on turning simple ideas into meaningful experiences — someone crafty, imaginative, organized, and passionate about making every day special for seniors.
This role requires proven success in planning and coordinating engaging events, increasing participation, and creating a vibrant community culture.
What You’ll Do
As our Activities Director, you will design and execute a dynamic monthly calendar that promotes physical, emotional, social, and cognitive wellness.
Your leadership will include:

Planning and coordinating daily activities, themed events, and large-scale celebrations

Creating beautiful, visually engaging calendars and event flyers

Developing craft-based, interactive, and hands-on programming

Coordinating holiday events, outings, entertainers, and vendors

Encouraging resident participation and building excitement around events

Tracking attendance and adjusting programming based on feedback

Managing the activities budget and supplies creatively and efficiently

Supervising activity assistants and volunteers (if applicable)

Supporting weekend events on a rotating schedule
This role requires someone who can think outside the box, repurpose materials creatively, and consistently bring fresh ideas to the table.
Qualifications

Proven experience as an Activities Director or Life Enrichment Director in Assisted Living or Independent Living

Demonstrated success in increasing resident engagement and satisfaction

Strong event planning and organizational skills

Extremely creative, resourceful, and hands-on
-
Crafting and décor experience preferred

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Ability to work independently and take ownership of the department

Valid driver’s license preferred
Schedule
Full-Time
Monday–Friday with rotating weekends
Weekend presence is required for key events and community engagement.
