 JOB SUMMARY

The Facility Services Support / Helper is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair and installation duties. Adheres to safety policies and procedures that have been established for JMTS. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and building facility systems.  Assists in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment according to equipment specifications, safety procedures, and internal production and maintenance systems and processes.  Assists with maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, mechanical equipment, plumbing systems, utility systems, vehicles and trailers. Helps with new or remodeling construction work. Performs housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of work areas to keep work space clean and safe.


QUALIFICATIONS (to be hired into the position):


Education Required:  High School diploma or GED

 

Training and Experience Required:  Basic computer skills with ability to use various software applications such as Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and CAD drawing programs. Initial training will be performed by the Facility Services Foreman and will continue until the employee is knowledgeable on all of the basic duties, responsibilities, skills, safety procedures and layout of the entire facility.  The employee must work for one year as a Facility Services Helper while in training before advancing to Facility Services Support position.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required:  

·         Principles and practices of environmental, health and safety regulations.

·         Knowledge of basic mathematics.

·         Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance capabilities.

·         Knowledge of materials, methods, terminology, equipment and tools used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems including those used in performing rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical, and painting work.

·         Knowledge of construction and project management principles.

·         Knowledge of relevant maintenance procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software.

Abilities Required

·         Ability to read and write English language, and speak effectively before groups of people. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

·         Ability to comply with health, safety and environmental regulations, policies and procedures.

·         Read and understand construction drawings, blueprints, schematics plans and specifications.

·         Perform maintenance duties and operate related equipment.

·         Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

·         Accurate at math; possesses analytical abilities.

·         Acute attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.

·         Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment failure, damages, and/or building and vehicle problems. Exhibits good problem solving skills.

·         Capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently, with a sense of urgency and with minimal supervision.
