Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Form Builder to join our production team in Atlanta, GA. The Form Builder will play a critical role in constructing, assembling, and maintaining forms (molds) used to shape precast concrete products. This position requires a strong understanding of carpentry, blueprint reading, and concrete production processes, as well as a commitment to precision and safety. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and contribute to the creation of high-quality precast concrete elements that meet our exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Form Construction and Assembly:
- Build, assemble, and modify wooden, metal, or composite forms based on detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Ensure forms are constructed to precise dimensions and tolerances to produce consistent, high-quality precast concrete products.
- Install reinforcements, inserts, and other components into forms as required.
Blueprint and Specification Interpretation:
- Read and interpret construction drawings, shop plans, and engineering specifications to determine form design and layout.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and engineers to clarify design requirements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintenance and Repair:
- Inspect forms for wear, damage, or defects and perform repairs or adjustments as needed to maintain functionality and accuracy.
- Clean and prepare forms for reuse, ensuring proper stripping and storage after concrete casting.
Material Handling:
- Select and prepare materials (e.g., lumber, plywood, steel) for form construction, ensuring efficient use and minimal waste.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as saws, drills, and grinders.
Collaboration and Safety:
- Work closely with production team members, including concrete laborers, finishers, and quality control staff, to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in regular safety training and contribute to a culture of safety awareness.
Quality Assurance:
- Verify that completed forms meet quality standards and specifications before concrete pouring begins.
- Assist in troubleshooting form-related issues during the casting process to ensure successful outcomes.
Cleanup and Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of debris and storage of tools and materials.
- Support general facility upkeep as part of the production team.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in carpentry, formwork construction, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Prior experience in precast concrete production or a similar industry and OSHA-8 or OSHA-10 Certification is a strong plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong carpentry skills, including the ability to measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately.
- Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., hammers, saws, levels) and power tools (e.g., circular saws, drills, pneumatic tools).
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, angles, and material quantities.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing setting.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational training or certification in carpentry, construction, or a related trade is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Willingness to work overtime or flexible shifts as needed to meet production deadlines.
- Reliable transportation to and from our Atlanta facility.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- The Form Builder role involves standing, bending, and lifting in a manufacturing facility with exposure to concrete dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Must be comfortable working around heavy machinery and adhering to strict safety guidelines.
