Job Summary

Echelon Fitness is looking for a passionate team player to join our team of full-stack web engineers. We are a connected fitness company that makes wellness fun and approachable by creating internet-enabled workout equipment with streaming content and real time statistics.


As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a team leader that helps us push the pace of innovation while ensuring code standards, testing, and maintainability are at the forefront. You and your teammates will create high-performing and highly-available Node-based APIs that are leveraged by our web-based, iOS and Android applications. The team also creates both consumer-facing and internal web sites using Angular.


Responsibilities


  • Write clean, high-quality, well-documented code that is optimized for high performance and maintainability.

  • Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure projects meet business objectives and compliance standards.

  • Support testing and deployment of new products and features.

  • Participate in code reviews, giving thoughtful feedback.

  • Ensure documentation is updated in Confluence and Swagger.

  • Follow an agile workflow with tools like Git, Slack, and JIRA.


Ideal Experience


  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least five years of relevant work experience building large-scale web applications.

  • Mastery of JavaScript (and preferably TypeScript), HTML, CSS (and preferably LESS/SASS), and relational databases.

  • At least two years of experience with Angular 6+ frontend and Node backend.

  • Strong background in object-oriented programming, database query optimization, and RESTful APIs.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Mentorship of more junior developers


Bonus Points


  • You know the decorator-goodness of NestJS

  • You have slayed shemas with TypeORM

  • You know what HLS, MVVM, SNS, and RDS stand for.

  • You understand that DRY and SOLID are more than just adjectives to describe a rock.

  • Experience with AWS, Redis, and Docker/Kubernetes.
