Position Title: Administrative Assistant & Health Promotion Coordinator
Department: Health & Wellness
Reports To: Manager of Health & Wellness
Location: Inuvik, NT
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative support to the Health & Wellness team, including scheduling, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
- Support file management, record keeping, and organization of department documents.
- Assist with purchasing, invoices, expense tracking, and basic administrative reporting.
- Support preparation of agendas, meeting notes, and internal communications.
- Assist with tracking workplans, calendars, and deadlines.
- Coordinate Health & Wellness participation in annual and ongoing health promotion days and campaigns.
- Support planning and organization of community events, displays, information sharing, and activities related to health promotion.
- Coordinate logistics such as space bookings, supplies, promotional materials, and schedules.
- Help ensure health promotion activities are inclusive, respectful, and culturally appropriate.
- Support collaboration
- Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in an administrative assistant, office support, or coordination role.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and support multiple staff.
- Comfortable using basic office software (email, word processing, spreadsheets).
- Experience supporting health promotion, community events, or awareness campaigns.
- Experience working in Indigenous organizations or community-based settings.
- Knowledge of health and wellness topics relevant to northern or Indigenous communities.
- Experience with basic communications, posters, or social media promotion.
