JOB SUMMARY: This position handles the clerical and administrative duties for a Loan Originator, including extensive customer contact and the development and delivery of all loan documentation from application through post-closing. Also responsible for duties of Relationship Banker (RB) which is an all-encompassing role which requires the employee to deliver high touch sales and service as well as process teller transactions for all customers. The RB is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive customer relationship by effectively communicating a clear understanding of the benefits and features of all FBT’s products and services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Assists mortgage loan and bank customers daily, in person and by telephone, to help resolve, in a courteous and professional manner, any questions or problems the customer(s) may have;
•Prepares loan packages for all loan requests and is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of all loan files through the loan closing;
•Responsible for monitoring and clearing all loan exceptions;
◦Pulls and works exception and tickler reports weekly.
•Processes credit inquiries;
•Order appraisals on new credits and order updates on existing credits.
•Accurately processes customer transactions, balances drawer and or vault, and maintains safeguards against fraud or out of balance conditions
•Demonstrates product knowledge of all deposit and lending products & services with a level of proficiency for all depository products and a referral knowledge of products & services not offered directly by the RB.
•Is responsible for opening and providing maintenance for any type of depository account.
•Demonstrates knowledge of all digital products and channels and is capable of introducing them and assisting customers in enrollment, use, and best practice recommendations
•Maintains adherence to all operational, regulatory and security requirements; follows directives and procedures to achieve minimal losses.
•Adheres to regulatory and compliance criteria in regard to opening deposit accounts; adheres to operational and screening processes.
•Adheres to all bank and branch internal policies and procedures.
•Demonstrates and models First Bank & Trust’s core values in support of the bank’s culture.
•Performs other duties and responsibiliites as directed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
•High School diploma or equivalent plus two year vocational educational program or relative work experience;
•One year previous cash handling experience
•Excellent customer service skills
•Previous loan administration or executive assistance experience in a customer service related position;
•Extensive knowledge of loan documentation;
•Extensive knowledge of lending compliance regulations, especially as they relate to mortgage loans;
•Ability to work independently and use independent judgment.
•General banking knowledge;
•Excellent PC skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and Database applications.
•Excellent communication skills both in person, in writing and by telephone;
•Organized with an attention to detail;
•Professional in appearance and manner;
Physical Demands- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use of hands and fingers to feel or handle equipment and files; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment- The work environment of the Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant is in an office due the nature of the position. The general area is medium to low noise level. All areas are air conditioned or heated.
