Plumbing Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Plumbing Inspector to perform inspections of residential and commercial plumbing systems in the Port St. Lucie area. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of plumbing codes, inspection procedures, and construction practices, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with contractors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, waste, vent, gas piping, and fixtures
• Ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code, Plumbing Code, and applicable local regulations
• Review approved plans and specifications prior to inspections
• Identify code violations and provide clear, accurate correction notices
• Document inspection results using electronic inspection systems or written reports
• Communicate inspection findings with contractors, engineers, and property owners
• Maintain accurate and organized inspection records
• Stay current with code updates and regulatory changes

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in plumbing inspection or the plumbing trade
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing codes and standards
• ICC Plumbing Inspector Certification (required)
• Valid Florida driver’s license
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and plumbing diagrams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• State of Florida Plumbing Inspector license
• Journeyman or Master Plumber background
• Experience inspecting residential and commercial construction projects
• Prior experience working with municipalities or permitting agencies
