YMCA Before and After School Care Leader - Saskatoon

You will supervise and deliver a consistent child-centred programing. We are committed to providing you with opportunities to develop your knowledge, skills and career while you enhance the experience of the children and families that we serve.
In this role, you will:
- Implement age appropriate programming ensuring YMCA program standards and YMCA Core Values are met
- Be a creative play partner who is actively engaged with the children, providing care, mentorship, and assistance to school-aged children.
- Provide quality compassionate care and support to children and their families; build positive relationships with children and seek opportunities to deepen connections with parents and families
- Complete general administration tasks as required including Children’s sign in and out; ensuring attendance is accurate and up to date; clean and tidy the facilities, and maintaining YMCA Child Protection protocols.
- Complete incident and behaviour reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; Understand and comply with YMCA policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You bring:
- Minimum one year of experience in before and after school, child care or extended day programs
- A capacity to work within a multiple level reporting structure; demonstrated professionalism in working with School Board teachers and staff in delivery of shared, quality programs to school families
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold
- Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
- Applicants are required to be a minimum of 16 years of age or older as per Ministry guidelines
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- An asset would be holding a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
