Position Summary:
The Host/Hostess is responsible for creating the first and last impression of the restaurant. This role manages reservations and walk-in flow, coordinates seating for hibachi tables to maximize efficiency and guest experience, and maintains accurate wait times in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them as they depart

  • Manage the waitlist and reservations using the restaurant’s seating system

  • Strategically seat guests to ensure proper hibachi table pacing, balanced server sections, and optimal table turns

  • Communicate accurate wait times and keep guests informed of delays

  • Escort guests to tables and present menus when appropriate

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and lobby area

  • Answer phones, manage to-go order pickups, and handle basic guest inquiries

  • Coordinate with managers, servers, and chefs to support smooth service flow

  • Assist with light side work such as menu organization and restocking front-of-house supplies

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, professional, and polished demeanor

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a high-volume setting

  • Excellent communication and guest service skills

  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Previous host or restaurant experience preferred but not required
