GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Development Coordinator supports fundraising and donor engagement efforts that advance the mission of Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi. This role assists with event coordination, donor communications, and database management, with a focus on growing and sustaining revenue. The position operates in accordance with organizational policies and under the direction of CACM Executive Leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about nonprofit development.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 ·       Fundraising and Donor Relations

o   Support the growth and stewardship of all revenue streams (individuals, corporate, foundations, and public) through relationship-based fundraising efforts.

o   Assist with execution of fundraising campaigns, including annual giving campaigns, sponsorships, direct mail, online giving, and other major donor initiatives.

o   Maintain accurate donor records, track contributions, and generate reports using CRM software (e.g. Bloomerang).

o   Support stewardship activities, including acknowledgement letters and donor recognition events.

o   Cultivate relationships with existing donors to encourage ongoing engagement and support, including coordinating donor meetings, calls, and follow ups.

o   Conduct donor research and prospect identification of new individual, business, and foundation donors to support individual giving, major gifts, and cultivation strategies.

o   Work collaboratively with the appropriate Executive Leadership Team member and/or Board Member on the ongoing cultivation, stewardship, and development of individual donor relationships.

·       Event Coordination

o   Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and community outreach initiatives.

o   Coordinate event logistics, event registration, sponsorship tracking, vendor communications, promotional efforts and post event follow up activities.

o   Assist with sponsorship outreach and donor engagement activities.

o   Collaborate with CACM Executive Leadership to identify volunteers to support event efforts.

o   Coordinate event committee meetings, document action items, and support follow-up activities.

·       Marketing and Communications

o   Represent the organization professionally with donors, partners, and community members.

o   Assist with the creation of donor communications, including newsletters, social media content (Facebook & Instagram), and fundraising appeals.

o   Maintain and update the organization’s website with relevant content.

o   Support the development of marketing and promotional materials.

o   Collaborate with the Chief Strategy & Operations Officer to develop and promote public awareness campaigns focused on child abuse prevention and available services.

o   Build relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and organizations to expand awareness and partnership opportunities.

o   Track and report on outreach efforts, including event attendance, engagement metrics, and potential donor leads.

·       Administrative Support

o   Manage fundraising-related records, budgets, and documentation.

o   Provide administrative and project support to the Chief Strategy & Operations Officer and other team members as needed.

·       Volunteer Management

o   Support the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers.

o   Coordinate volunteer assignments and track volunteer hours.

o   Engage volunteers effectively in events and community awareness activities. 

 Is a self-motivated professional to meet the day-to-day functions of the agency.  

Maintains and maximizes the image of the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi through his/her interface with state and national agencies, all public and private entities, and member CACs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 ·       Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

·       One to three years of experience in fundraising, community outreach, or public relations.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software.

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.

·       Experience planning and supporting fundraising or community events.

·       Knowledge of digital marketing and donor engagement strategies.

·       Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

·       Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events and outreach activities.

·       Valid driver’s license, satisfactory background check, and ability to travel.

·       Demonstrated passion for the mission and values of Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi.

 Additional Information:

Salary range is commensurate with experience. The office is located in Jackson, Mississippi. The selected candidate must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
