For over 45 years, Bridge Machine Shop Ltd. has provided a diverse mix of machining, fabrication and hydraulic services to the mining and waterfront industries, among others. Bridge has become a specialist in the rebuilding of large cylinders. The Company has set itself apart by providing the highest quality refurbishment services.

Recent demand has increased the volume in the shop, and we are looking for a self-motivated and fast-paced Shop Helper to support our workflow and skilled trades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and painting parts and components
• Keeping the shop area clean and organized
• Cleaning, maintaining and organizing the yard.
• Material handling including operating a forklift and overhead crane.
• Verifying, identifying and documenting incoming and outgoing products
• Facilitating component movement to support skilled trades
• Cleaning and maintaining parts & equipment to ensure their optimal performance & reliability.
• Local pick-up/deliveries - valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Other duties, as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Valid class 5 driver's license.
• Must have experience moving parts by operating a forklift and overhead crane. – Current certification an asset.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Resourceful and mechanically inclined.
• Dependable and consistent in attendance, quality, and productivity.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with painting is considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

• General manufacturing shop specializing in cylinder rebuilds
• Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fast-paced environment requiring high attention to detail
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions
