Kitchen Manager
Side Street Food Service is seeking a Kitchen Manager to run a high volume kitchen servicing Charter Schools and Childcare Centers around Indianapolis.
- Job Description: Oversee all kitchen staff, food preparation and cooking activities. Requests staff hiring, termination, and disciplinary action of staff. Supervises staff activities and instructs cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food. Maintains impeccable workplace hygiene as well as high work and safety standards. Maintains inventory and orders stock according to inventory standards. Maintains the standards, policies and procedures of the company. Ensures the staff follows all policies and procedures of the company. The kitchen manager is expected to set an example for the cooks reporting to them.
Qualifications:

Knowledgeable of sanitation, workplace hazardous materials and first aid

Human resource management skills are required such as, training and performance management

3-5 years experience in scratch cooking / food preparation

Financial management skills such as basic accounting needed when maintaining inventory

Excellent communication skills

Experience in Leadership

Time management skills

Culinary Arts Diploma or 3-5 years of experience as a Chef is needed

Must have proven experience as a Sous Chef, Cook, Catering Manager or equivalent

Must have current Serv-Safe Certification or Acquire within 90 days of employment

Shift: Monday-Friday 5am-1pm
