Parts Specialist

We’re seeking a detail‑driven Heavy Equipment Parts Specialist to source, identify, quote, and fulfill used and aftermarket parts for construction and agricultural machinery. You’ll work with major OEM brands such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, and Komatsu, ensuring customers receive cost‑effective solutions without compromising quality. What You’ll DoCustomer Support & Sales
- Respond to parts inquiries via phone, email, and counter—identify needs and offer used/aftermarket alternatives for Caterpillar, Deere, Volvo, Komatsu, and other brands.
- Build quotes, process orders, and handle returns/warranty claims professionally.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, salvage yards, rebuilders, and distributors.
Technical Identification & Sourcing
- Accurately identify parts using serial numbers, model year, diagrams, and service manuals.
- Cross‑reference OEM to aftermarket part numbers; verify fitment and supersessions.
- Source hard‑to‑find components (powertrain, hydraulics, undercarriage, electrical) with speed and accuracy.
Inventory Management
- Receive, stock, and cycle‑count inventory to maintain 98–100% bin accuracy.
- Maintain clean, labeled shelves; manage core returns and used component grading.
- Forecast demand; set min/max levels; reduce dead stock and shrink.
Operational Excellence
- Create pick tickets, pack slips, and shipping labels; coordinate LTL/local courier pickups.
- Document all customer interactions and transactions in the ERP/POS system.
- Collaborate with service technicians to align parts availability with work orders.
- Experience: 2–5 years in heavy equipment, diesel, ag, or construction parts (used/aftermarket experience strongly preferred).
- Mechanical Aptitude: Comfort reading schematics, identifying assemblies, and understanding machine systems (hydraulics, driveline, electrical).
- Inventory Knowledge: Hands‑on experience with receiving, cycle counts, bin location management, and stock optimization.
- Computer Skills: Proficient with ERP/POS (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Epicor, CDK, or similar), Excel/Sheets, email, and online catalogs; fast and accurate data entry.
- Communication: Clear and professional—able to translate technical details for customers and technicians.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail; thrives with checklists and process discipline.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license; forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiarity with OEM catalogs for Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, Komatsu (and other major brands).
- Experience with salvage/cores, component rebuild programs, or reman parts.
- Knowledge of interchangeability across models and years.
- Basic understanding of purchasing and vendor terms (lead times, freight, warranties).
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (occasional OT/Saturday during peak).
