Part Time Chart Room Clerk I Position Control Number CRC-23-920-01
U.M. FDSP Associates is a non-profit affiliate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. U.M. FDSP Associates is the organization that provides patient care focused staffing for the clinic operations so that faculty and students may provide patient care to the general public.
Under general supervision, performs multi-step clerical duties in chart room. Supports clinics in providing organized information in timely manner and provides customer service at the chart room counter.
The schedule will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30a to 2:30p
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews and verifies documents for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and compliance with procedures. Ensures file “out” system is used properly; conducts inventory to control shrinkage.
- Creates and updates file folders, codes, sorts, and files documents, x-rays and related materials.
- Responds to routine inquiries requiring knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Assembles and compiles data and records. Enters and retrieves data.
- Receives and sorts incoming materials. Validates shipping orders. Tracks the distribution of materials to students.
- May handle daily mail distribution. Participates in preparing bulk mailings.
- Operates office equipment such as personal computers, typewriters, calculators, facsimile machines, and photocopiers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 - 2 years’ related experience. Related education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Knowledge of standard office procedures; must be able to operate computers and other office machines, such as faxes, calculator, answering telephones, as well as greeting visitors and general professionalism. Skill in filing documents according to alphabetical and numeric sequences; in operating manual and automated office equipment. Some experience with excel required. Ability to apply close attention to detail in performing routine clerical tasks. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to work independently. Ability to maintain effective work relationships.
