Technical Sales Engineer Team Lead

George E. Booth Co. is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales
company looking to hire their next full-time Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) Team
Lead.
The George E. Booth Co. is a major distributor of process instrumentation products, controls, and related services to customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. Founded in 1963, George E. Booth Sr. recognized that there would be a natural evolution in the development of products for the industrial process instrumentation field.
The ideal candidate will engage in all levels of customer experience to fully develop an understanding of customer needs and maintain open channels of communication with both internal and external partners to ensure all customer needs are met. The TSE Team Lead will monitor the workload and balance of the team to operate efficiently while also fostering a learning environment that allows team member growth.
Position is bound primarily to a standard office desk station with occasional travel to local territory during normal business hours. A clean driving record is required. Responsibilities for the TSE Team Lead
- Responsible for training and mentoring regarding day-to-day activities.
- Monitor and approve select team members PTO and training scheduling.
- Involvement in the hiring process for new team members.
- Supervise and assist customers with selection of products based on the scope of project needs through various applications, prepare quotations and follow-up on status.
- Comprehensive understanding of technical products that may include but are not limited to concepts of pressure, flow, level, etc.
- Troubleshoot situations with customers to analyze and interpret any problems customers may encounter.
- Oversee orders into ERP system and Salesforce to help the Technical Sales team.
- Document quotation and follow-up through Salesforce/ERP system.
- Position will be required to process all orders through GEBCO ERP system and manufacturer order system.
- Responsible for day-to-day decisions related to pricing and overall customer care within the company's established parameters.
- Position will coordinate and communicate regularly with outside sales team to fully develop accounts within designated sales territory.
- Interaction with customers on-site may be required at times.
- Necessary to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities.
Requirements for the TSE Team Lead
- Bachelor's degree in technical field (electrical, engineering, etc.) or equivalent work experience in technical field required.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to work independently or with a team are a must for success in this role.
- Results-driven personality a plus.
- Strong communication skills whether written, verbal or otherwise required, especially using moderately complex terminology and concepts.
- Must be willing to travel locally with occasional overnights.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in technical field with customer service or similar.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in supervisor/managerial role.
