Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for reconciling complex sections during monthly closings in addition to preparing financial statements. The senior financial analyst will also act as a technical expert for colleagues during the implementation of Système, in which he or she will participate as a "Super-User." He or she will work a hybrid schedule, teleworking and working at the Montreal office.
Duties and responsibilities
- Record adjusting entries for complex sections.
- Document accounting processes for the new SAP ERP.
- Be a point of reference for the accounting team in case of questions.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements in accordance with IFRS in order to provide accurate and timely information to partners.
- Identify and take action on opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
Required qualifications
- Professional accounting studies (university level), CPA designation is an asset.
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Bilingual (French and English) will be required to interact with Gold Fields' English-speaking team.
Technical skills
- Knowledge of control principles for different accounting cycles.
- Experience with integrated ERP software desired (ideally SAP S/4)
- Experience in preparing financial statements
- Comfortable using advanced formulas in Excel.
