Accounting Assistant

Job Type: Non- Exempt 20-40 Hours a week

Job Summary:

The Accounting Assistant is a key member of accounting team, reporting to the Corporate Accountant. The goal of the Accounting Assistant is to assist the Corporate Accountant with special projects and the day to day accounting functions of the Accounting Department.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable: Deposits/Invoicing/Reconciliation
• Accounts Payable: Responsible for accurate coding/Check Runs/Vendor
• General Ledger: Responsible for accurate posting to the G/L/Post A/R, A/P, accruals, adjusting journals, reversals, depreciation and fixed assets and closing journal entries
• Maintain and update chart of accounts
• Assist with account reconciliation/bank statement
• Assist in the preparation of various financial reports
• Assist in managing sub ledgers and balance sheet accounts
• Assist in daily/monthly cash balance reporting
• Assist in monthly sales commission calculations
• All other duties as required

Required Experience:

• Three or more years of finance experience with responsibilities in no less than general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial statement preparation
• Excellent computer skills, with knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and QuickBooks 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration desired, but not required.
• College coursework in finance required
