OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Assistant Instructor to teach in the Pharmacy Assistant program. Course delivery is hybrid with some course content delivered through our online learning environment and some in our on-campus pharmacy laboratory. Incumbents must have availability to instruct on campus. The instructional schedule is determined per course and based on instructor availability and course scheduling.
Instructors are responsible for the planning and delivery of dynamic and engaging assigned courses of study, using appropriate teaching and learning techniques in compliance with the college’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Share industry-related knowledge, expertise, and passion with the students.
Respond to student inquiries and provide feedback in a respectful and timely manner.
Record student attendance and grades.
Develop and maintain a supportive learning community.
Provide guidance and support to adult learners.
Deliver course content via Brightspace/D2L Learning Management System (LMS).
Deliver instruction that meets course and program objectives as set out in the curriculum.
Evaluate student performance fairly, promptly and consistently.
Collaborate with other teams (Student Support and Services, Workforce Team, Academic Department, etc.) to contribute positively to the student experience.
Support the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience.
Act in a manner that upholds the professional expectations and standards of Robertson College.
Maintain an online presence in the Brightspace LMS by challenging, engaging, and communicating with students to encourage their participation and learning.
Evaluate and post grades in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate, degree, or diploma in pharmacy or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
A minimum of 3 years of recent relevant work experience in the pharmacy field as a pharmacy assistant, pharmacy technician, or more senior position is required.
Must be Licensed in the Province of the position when applicable and in good standing.
2+ years of work experience in an institutional or community pharmacy setting is preferred.
Experience instructing adults and/or delivering (individualized or group) workplace training is an asset.
Certificate in Adult Education is an asset.
Experience in delivering training programs for professional and educational purposes is an asset.
Able to engage and motivate students with an interactive instructional approach.
Understand and be able to apply the principles of adult learning.
Able to adapt, administer, and evaluate student performance.
Able to learn quickly and adapt to new environments.
Able to use Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
Exhibits a high standard of work ethic and professionalism.
Experience with online learning management systems.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
Demonstrates confidence, a positive approach, and a strong work ethic.

Job Types: Contract
Salary: $34.00 -$37.00 per hour
Location: On campus (Winnipeg)
Delivery Format:
Asynchronous: Theory via D2L (Brightspace) with weekly virtual office hours.
Synchronous: Lab components at the campus.
Required availability: Weekdays and Weekends (Morning, afternoon, and evening)
