Community Training Coordinator

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for conduct training and the coordination of statewide training efforts of The Family Tree, Inc (TFT).  This position works independently and collaboratively to assist with the facilitation of TFT’s community-level programming; provides tailored technical assistance services and offers a range of support to community groups and other state-wide entities.  This position will provide administrative support to TFT’s statewide childhood adversity awareness campaign and community engagement strategy, which will impact outcomes to reduce the incidences of child maltreatment in the state. TFT seeks a qualified candidate with a strong passion for educating the public about the impact of trauma and adversity on children to mitigate the harmful effects later in life.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Assistant Director in successfully implementing goals for state-wide training and public education/advocacy initiatives goals.

  • Responsible for conducting community and professional training to a variety of audiences on child wellbeing and the lasting impact of childhood adversity (ACEs).

  • Effectively manage program timelines to ensure completion of program deliverables.

  • Coordinate and facilitate a coalition of statewide trainers.

  • Collect and track training activities and outcomes in Excel spreadsheets and other database systems.

  • Responsible for researching child welfare statistics and updating presentations to include new information as available.

  • Manage shared files on a public drive for statewide trainers.

  • Responsible for assisting in the facilitation of technical assistance to communities via workshops, technical assistance calls, webinars, professional training and other methods of education and information dissemination.

  • Coordinate logistics for technical assistance events, meetings, briefings, and webinars.

  • Attends required staff meetings, training, consultation meetings, and conferences.

  • Other job duties as assigned by the Assistant Director, Community Engagement Services.

    EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Mental Health, Nursing  Public Health)

     EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience working in Health, Human or Social Services, preferably providing services to children and families with a history of trauma

  • 2 years of experience conducting community and professional presentations/training

  • Experience with data collection and tracking methods for the purposes of reporting outcomes

  • Experience coordinating complex projects and/or coalitions and a strong ability to deliver results on a number of tasks simultaneously

  • Experience and willingness to work with a culturally diverse population

     SKILLS:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Extensive understanding of the impact of trauma and adversity on children

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills

  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to take initiative on projects and tasks

  • Strong interpersonal relations skill with an ability to identify new opportunities

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

  • Strong technical skills specifically with Microsoft Office (including Excel & PowerPoint), email; Internet research, and online data systems for the purposes of tracking outcomes

     WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

  • Must be prepared to travel to various program sites and various communities.
