Overview:

The Manager of Annual Single Giving leads the strategic execution of Covenant House Toronto’s fundraising efforts for its high-performing direct response annual single giving donor program, focusing on donor retention, lapsed donor reactivation, and revenue growth general and mid-level giving strategies, an emerging and growth opportunity. This role provides leadership to cross-functional teams, collaborates to improve retention and reduce attrition, and continuously monitors the overall health of the program. The Manager ensures campaigns are donor-centric, data-driven, and aligned with organizational goals, while maintaining fiscal responsibility and maximizing ROI.

We are currently recruiting for 1 Full-time, Permanent Position. This is a new role within the organization. 

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

· Develop strategies and tactics for acquisition, retention, reactivate lapsed donor, upgrade and manage mid-level giving strategies as a core component of the annual giving single gift donor program

· Oversee the donor journey to optimize lifetime value and revenue growth.

· Lead cross-functional teams to implement integrated multi-channel campaigns that grow the monthly giving portfolio, improve retention, and win back supporters.

Budget & Forecasting

· Create and manage annual single gift donor revenue and expense budgets by campaign and channel including both traditional and digital.

· Maintain ongoing revenue and expense forecasting and adjust strategies proactively to achieve financial goals.

Collaboration

· Collaborate with Donor Experience team to enhance on-boarding, improve processes, and reduce attrition for single gift donors.

· Keep the Donor Services team informed about active campaigns to ensure accurate and timely donor support.

· Work with digital and traditional fundraising teams to ensure cross-promotion and optimization across channels for monthly conversion, upgrade, and single-gift strategies.

· Work closely with the Manager of Monthly Giving to ensure alignment between programs, coordinate campaign timing, and share insights to optimize donor experience and revenue growth.

· Partner with major donor development team to identify, qualify, and transition high-potential annual donors into the major gift pipeline through coordinated moves management strategies, including data-driven prospecting and shared stewardship plans to optimize donor experience and revenue growth.

· Work with the Manager of Legacy Giving to identify key prospects and coordinate communication messaging and cadence.

Creative & Optimization

· Develop and deliver strategic creative briefs to internal teams and external agencies, ensuring campaign messaging aligns with fundraising objectives, audience insights, and brand standards.

· Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure campaigns are on time, on budget, accurate and aligned with organizational goals.

· Proactively leverage and share timely, relevant performance insights, donor trends, and campaign learnings with the team to drive segmentation, testing, and optimization.

· Stay current with direct response trends and best practices.

Execution 

· Lead end-to-end campaign strategy and execution, including planning, creative development, segmentation, testing, multi-channel implementation, and performance analysis for single-gift campaigns.

· Ensure donor communications are compelling, personalized, and mission-aligned.

· Provide strategic oversight to vendors and agencies, ensuring campaign materials reflect fundraising objectives and brand standards.

· Work with data services, vendors, digital teams to develop tracking and reporting tools and ensure accurate campaign execution.

Data Analysis and Reporting

· Monitor campaign performance metrics and continuously assess the overall health of the single giving program.

· Provide recommendations for optimization and prepare regular reports for leadership.

· Ensure excellent data hygiene practices and compliance with PIPEDA, CASL, and PCI requirements.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

· Revenue Generation & Budget Management: Successfully raise and deliver annual revenue targets exceeding $12 million through single gift donor strategies, while managing expense budget to maximize ROI.

· Donor Lifetime Value (LTV): Increase the average lifetime value of single gift donors through retention, upgrades, and engagement strategies.

· Campaign ROI: Achieve strong return on investment for all direct mail, digital, and integrated campaigns, ensuring cost-effectiveness and revenue growth.

· Donor Acquisition Cost (CAC): Maintain or reduce cost per acquisition for new single gift donors across all channels.

· New Donor Acquisition: Volume of new single gift donors acquired through multi-channel campaigns.

· Donor Retention Rate: Percentage of single gift donors retained year-over-year.

· Lapsed Donor Reactivation: Number and percentage of lapsed donors re-engaged.

· Upgrade Rate: Percentage of donors upgraded to higher giving levels within the single gift program.

· Mid-Level Giving Growth: Revenue generated from mid-level donors within the single gift program.

· Move Management Success: Number of mid-level donors transitioned into the major gift pipeline in collaboration with Development. Collaboration effectiveness (e.g., documented joint plans with Development team).

· Campaign Performance: Response rates, ROI, and average gift size for direct mail, digital, and integrated campaigns.

· Data Quality & Compliance: Adherence to data hygiene standards and compliance with PIPEDA, CASL, and PCI requirements.

· Campaign Timeliness & Quality: On-time delivery of campaign assets and alignment with strategic goals.

· Innovation Adoption: Number of new strategies, tools, or channels tested and implemented to optimize donor engagement.

·Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 5+ years of experience in direct response fundraising, preferably in the nonprofit sector and 3+ years in a leadership capacity.

· Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets over $10 million.

· Proven success managing direct mail, phone and digital campaigns and generating significant revenue.

· Proven track record developing and achieving revenue growth

· Experience developing strategies for new donor acquisition, donor retention and reactivation of lapsed donors and mid-level donor.

· Excellent project management and organizational skills.

· Proficiency with donor databases and CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Engaging Networks, Salesforce).

· Experience managing programs with complex donor segmentation requirements.

· Strong understanding of fundraising regulations (e.g., PIPEDA, and other provincial privacy laws).

· Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and optimize campaigns.

· Expertise in strategic storytelling and communication techniques by channel and brand.

· Has excellent understanding of data hygiene best practices and PCI requirements.

· Experience supervising staff and working cross-functionally.

· Knowledge of Engaging Networks, Salesforce or other eMarketing platforms.

· Experience with social media platforms for acquisition, retention and lead generation.
