We are family owned and when you join us, you become family. Hosts report to the Manager on duty and are in charge of the following:

  • Keep host station organized, clean and maintained at all times
  • Field emergency calls to your colleagues on duty
  • Hosts are often quite literally the first person a customer will come into contact with either in person or by phone. Just like a host of a party, a restaurant host must greet guests as if we have been waiting for them to arrive all day long. Kind, professional and immediate recognition of customers entering our door is a must.
  • Hosts must know the menu, daily specials, general restaurant information, table sections, dining room stations, and fellow FOH employees on duty
  • Hosts manage the phones, take reservations, record messages and answer customer questions
  • Hosts will assist customers with packages (birthday cakes, decorations being dropped off, etc…)
  • Hosts take the “emotional temperature†of incoming guests and will relate any noteworthy information to the manager on duty and servers regarding specifics of the reservation or needs of the guests.
  • Hosts recognize incoming guests, confirm their needs – and either direct them to the bar, party room OR escort them to their table. Once seated, a host graciously hands the customer over to the care of the server.
  • Hosts will assist customers in leaving the building and bid them a good evening or day, thanking them for their patronage. A host will continue with this routine throughout their shift until the last table has been sat.
  • A host may be asked by the manager on duty to assist with service, cleaning tables, maintain the dining room
