Project Accountant
Biohabitats is seeking a Project Accountant that will provide direct financial support and analysis for our accounting team and project managers. This position will work closely with the accounting team and project managers to ensure timely and accurate billing, project set up, budget maintenance, report development, project compliance, contract review, and other various accounting duties.
The ideal candidate is someone who has experience with billing in the architecture, engineering, and/or construction industry. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to review and interpret contract terms and related client compliance requirements. Candidates must be able to work independently, able to communicate with clients, partners and other team members, and well organized.

Role and Responsibilities
- Coordinate project and budget set up with project managers.
- Perform detailed review of monthly billing and generate invoices based on review of contract requirements.
- Support project managers’ requests for financial reporting.
- Assist project managers’ understanding of project reporting and provide additional interpretation of financial reports to confirm project’s earned value.
- Participate in month-end close and other day-to-day accounting responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualities, Experience, and Knowledge
- Experience with contract review and billing in the architecture, engineering, and/or construction industry.
- Excellent organizational, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize tasks.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite and/or related software.
- Familiarity with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint.
Years of Relevant Experience
2-5 years of experience as a Project Accountant
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field
Salary Range
$65,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience and dependent on location
Location
Baltimore, MD. Other locations may be considered.
