This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of products, maintaining strong customer relationships, and resolving issues promptly. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills to support customer satisfaction and optimize supply chain operations. Additionally, this position involves participation in the S&OP process to align shipment schedules with company sales, operational, and financial goals. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Logistics Management 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of export procedures, including ocean freight logistics, compliance with import regulations in key markets, and bank collections. 
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve shipment issues efficiently; propose solutions such as customs warehousing, fumigation services, or rerouting. 
  • Monitor port activities, industry developments, and maintain adherence to SVWG shipping policies, theft prevention programs, and documented procedures. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with drayage and transportation vendors; manage insurance documentation, control costs and oversee scheduling. 
  • Serve as the backup for shipping and appointment scheduling when needed. 

Customer Service 

  • Balance customer needs and company priorities by delivering proactive, professional service across diverse cultural backgrounds. 
  • Ensure accuracy in order processing and data reporting with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Manage assigned customer accounts, collaborating with the sales team to provide exceptional service. 
  • Participate in Food Safety and Recall teams; understand product specifications and engage in monthly quality meetings. 

Sales and Marketing Support 

  • Stay informed on walnut market and current events that impact international trade. 
  • Track industry shipment reports, commodity price trends and help prepare reports to track internal and customer-facing metrics. 
  • Develop customer insights through participation in site visits and food industry trade shows. 
  • Support marketing initiatives, including creating collateral materials, presentations and social media content. 

 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of ERP systems. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
