John Ross & Sons Ltd. Is a fifth generation, family owned, scrap metal recycler. The company is the largest metal recycler in Atlantic Canada and has been in operation for over 80 years. John Ross & Sons Ltd. Specializes in purchasing and processing all ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, along with accepting a wide range of recyclable material to process.

We are currently seeking an energetic and safety minded general laborer to join our team at our roofing site in Truro.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties: ● Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment ● Ensuring proper and precise measurements ● Operating different machinery

● Ensure quality assurance on manufactured parts

● Maintain a clean and tidy work area

● Upkeeping safety procedures

● Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to management

● Other labor duties as necessary

Qualifications and Skills:

● Previous experience in carpentry or roofing considered to be an asset

● Experience of heavy lifting and general labor

● Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently

● Full PPE (CSA Steel toes, Gloves, Glasses, safety Vest, Hard Hat)

● Safety driven mindset

● Clear communication skills

● Comfortable working in all weather conditions

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM and every other Saturday.
