Kerr Group is looking for a high-performing Senior Accountant who wants more than a traditional accounting role.

You will play a key role in managing financial operations across multiple companies while helping modernize accounting processes through automation, technology, and smarter workflows.

The Opportunity
The Senior Accountant will oversee key financial processes across the Kerr Group and ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient financial operations.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys taking full ownership of their work, solving problems independently, and continuously improving systems rather than simply maintaining them.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations
Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable
Review invoices, coding, payment processing, vendor communication, and reconciliations
Oversee corporate credit card reconciliations and expense allocations
Maintain vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies
Payroll & Compliance
Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies using Payworks
Ensure payroll compliance and reconciliations
Prepare year-end T4 reporting
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
Support the month-end close process
Prepare working papers, accruals, and account reconciliations
Assist in preparing internal financial statements and financial reports
Ensure accurate expense classification and financial reporting
Financial Planning & Analysis
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Provide financial insights and reporting to leadership
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows
Use AI tools and automation to improve operational efficiency
Leverage advanced Excel modeling and reporting tools
Strengthen financial processes and internal controls
Qualifications
Core Requirements
4+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience considered)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas required)
Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Comfortable using AI tools and modern productivity software
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Self-starter with high accountability, strong deadline management, and an energetic, go-getter mindset.
Nice to Have
Experience processing payroll end-to-end
Experience with Microsoft Business Central
Experience working with multi-entity organizations
