Full Time Meat Clerk

Meat Clerks play an important role in the success of our business, influencing customer experiences in the Meat department in many ways – product presentation, item availability on the sales floor, product freshness, pricing accuracy, department cleanliness and sanitation, and importantly, delivering remarkable service using product knowledge.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting each customer with, “Good (morning, afternoon, evening)! Engaging in appropriate conversations with customers and thanking them for choosing to shop with us
  • Wrapping meat according to specifications using manual machines
  • Using the scale to weigh and label items
  • Stocking cases and displays to maintain a fresh and full appearance
  • Rotating product on the sales floor and in the cooler and freezer by date and taking appropriate action
  • Completing price changes, including re-wrapping, relabeling and sign changes
  • Understanding the store layout to easily locate products for customers
  • Completing assigned daily cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • Maintaining a professional personal brand representation in the proper Veron’s uniform
  • Reporting to work on time and as scheduled
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED (or pursuing)

Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand for extended periods of time

Able to distinguish product quality and freshness standards

Able to stoop, squat, reach and maneuver to move product, boxes, bags, shelving, carts and equipment.

Reliable transportation.
