Long Beach ALP (Assisted Living Program), located in Long Beach, NY is actively seeking an Administrator/Wellness Director to join our dynamic team of caring professionals.

Position Summary:

The Administrator/Wellness Director will operate and supervise the Assisted Living Program (ALP) in compliance with local laws and Department of Health (DOH) regulations. Responsible for coordinating, monitoring and recording issues regarding all aspects of resident care relating to medical, social, financial and other needs. Supervises case management services as necessary to support the resident in maintaining independence of function and personal choice.


  • Must be willing and able to work with older adults in a residential setting with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with the delivery of home care services.
  • RN license and experience required
  • Must have education and experience as set forth in 18 NYCRR 487.9(c). RN, MSW or MS, CTRS with related experience in supervising residential health services, preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:  

  • Responsible for recruitment and general supervision of ALP staff and volunteers
  • Supervises ALP resident services including personal care, case management, activities, housekeeping, food service, financial services and maintenance/engineering.
  • Performs initial and periodic assessment and evaluation, at least once every 6 months, of the needs of residents and of the capability of the program to meet those needs.
  • Supervises and coordinates the admission, transfer and discharge of residents including orientation of new residents and families/responsible parties to the daily ALP routine.
  • Coordinates and develops community activities and services for residents of the ALP.
  • Responds to marketing telephone inquiries and conducts tours of the ALP for residents, potential residents, families and visitors.
  • Maintains community relations as the networking liaison between the ALP and community agencies/ referral sources to cultivate referrals and maintain census goals.
  • Maintains resident files confidentially including residency agreements and other appropriate documents.
  • Identifies needs and arranges for services and entitlements from public and private sources for income, health, mental health and social services.
  • Works with service providers in executing a plan for service for individual residents
  • Protects residents’ rights and develops appropriate mechanisms for the residents’ protection.
  • Responsible for coordinating overall In-service Education program.  Employs the use of outside lecturers/speakers, video/audio tapes to cover a wide range of topics in an effort to continually improve levels of employee education as well as communication and to increase employee retention.
