Position Overview
PCC is seeking a Part-Time Day Program Support Specialist to work directly with youth in a structured day program environment.
This role is hands-on and interactive, focused on supervising youth groups, facilitating activities, and supporting youth with diverse developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs. You’ll help create a safe, engaging environment where youth can build communication skills, regulate emotions, and develop positive peer relationships.
This position includes active participation in group activities, recreational programming, and occasional community outings.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise groups of youth organized by age and developmental level

Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment

Support youth with diverse behavioral, developmental, and emotional needs

Use trauma-informed strategies to support youth regulation and engagement

Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities for youth groups

Facilitate activities that support creativity, learning, movement, and social interaction

Adapt activities to meet varying abilities and engagement levels

Assist in implementing daily program schedules and program plans

Provide brief updates to parents or caregivers regarding youth participation

Communicate professionally with families regarding daily program experiences

Work closely with the Day Program Director and program staff

Participate in team meetings and trainings

Complete documentation and reporting in the program’s electronic record system
Qualifications
-
Minimum 2 years' experience working with children or youth
-
Experience supervising or facilitating group youth activities
-
Ability to work with youth who may have behavioral or developmental challenges

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Background in Child Development, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field

Experience in youth programs, day camps, after-school programs, or behavioral support roles

Experience with trauma-informed care practices
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with youth for extended periods

Ability to participate in recreational and movement-based activities

Ability to lift and carry materials (approximately 25 lbs)

Ability to respond quickly to behavioral support needs
Work Environment and Schedule

Part-Time Position

Must have availability between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
