Avalon Care Centre is a fully accredited long term care home in Orangeville, Ontario and serves 137 residents. Join our team as a Restorative Care Coordinator!
Under the direction of the Director of Care, the Restorative Care Coordinator is responsible and accountable for the organization of therapy services and the delivery of restorative care services.
This role is responsible for assessing and providing hands-on restorative care to residents, including assistance with daily living, range of motion, feeding, and ambulation, as well as implementing programs developed by the interdisciplinary therapy team (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy). The position participates in selection, evaluation, promotion, termination of team members, requires collaboration with the rehabilitation team on care plans, documents progress, provides education and ensures compliance with safety standards (OH&S),
We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:
A current certificate of registration with the appropriate college of a regulated health profession; or
Must possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, kinesiology, therapeutic recreation or other related field from an Ontario post-secondary institution, or an equivalent post secondary diploma, degree or certificate from another jurisdiction: and
Possess at least one year of experience in a health care setting as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 ss. 70, and Ontario Regulation ss. 246/22);
Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
Minimum of two years’ experience in geriatric rehabilitation or Long Term Care an asset
Computer skills an asset
Must be computer literate
